This afternoon I had the opportunity to spend a few hours at the Hannaford on Dorset Street in South Burlington, VT sharing samples of Bove's famous lasagna with customers as part of the store's grand re-opening celebration. Â I always enjoy spending time with customers and sharing my love for great homemade Italian food, but this particular event also provided me an opportunity to do something extremely important to me and to our community -- to help ensure that all Vermonters have access to food to feed themselves and their families.
Today, Bove's and Hannaford teamed up and donated more than 1,000 jars of pasta sauce and 1,000 pounds of pasta to the Chittenden County Emergency Food Shelf to help make sure that the community's needs continue to be met all year round.
I'd like to thank Hannaford for having me in the Dorset Street store this afternoon and for stepping up to help out our community, and send another big shout-out to all who came out to say hello this afternoon.
